Film

As a group we feel that our Music Video is completed at the moment. We might change our minds when we look at it again in the next few weeks, in which case we may have to re-film or re-edit parts. HOWEVER at the moment we are pleased with this film.

Today we added iphone sound effects at the beginning, so that its not just completely silent as the audience is waiting for the song to start.
We got these effects from 2 YouTube videos and a website that transfers YouTube Videos to MP3.
The YouTube videos and website we used were:

Rough Cut 2

Here is our next version of our music video. We still need to film a few more shots, and still need to do more editing, as you can see. Also you may notice that we have changed the start of our video.

Update 03/03/2016

We had planned to film our last scene on Sunday the 28th of February which would have taken no longer than half hour but unfortunately things did not go to plan as the people we wanted to film with had become unavailable. We then rearranged to film on Tuesday the 1st of March but the weather did not allow us to get the shots we wanted. We have now decided to now film on Monday or Tuesday next week (the 7th or the 8th of March). We can then finish our final piece and start putting together our evaluations. We have already started research but there is only so much we can do prior to finishing our film. Once we have our final rough cut we will get some audience feedback encase we need to change anything and we will then get another final audience feedback once we have put together our final piece.

First Rough Cut

This is our Rough Cut.  We haven't got all the filming yet so some shots are longer than intended to be in the actual film and in some parts of the song there is no visual what so ever. We have left them parts blank for now.

SkateBoarding Scenes

We have filmed a few scenes of Luke (who was originally in our group) skateboarding for our music video. Here are some of the shots that we may edit and use;

Time-lapse Example

Here is an example of a time-lapse we will use in our music video. It is our filming. As you can see, it is of cars on the motorway. We used Adobe Premiere Pro to speed it up to make it a time-lapse.

Test shots 2 - Paper being thrown into the bin

These are shots that we may use for the end of our music video. Lewis is throwing the scrunched up piece of paper into the bin. We have 3 shots of this. We may need to re-film this bit if we don't feel it looks right when we do the rough-cut.

Test Shot 1

The end shot is of the piece of paper being thrown into a bin. This is our first test shot for that scene. We used a bottle as an example.

Stop Motion Rough Cut

These photos will make the beginning of our music video as we will be using stop motion to create our opening. This is our first go at doing this. We may have to re-do it if we feel it doesn't look right once we have done our rough cut.

Starting our filming

Yesterday (14th January) we started our filming.
We found a few scenes at the start and the end that we knew we could film during school time.
We asked the music department at Greenacre if we could use one of their recording studios/music rooms to film because we wanted the scenes to be set in a music environment.
They allowed us into one of the rooms.
We then started to take pictures of paper being scrunched up bit by bit for our stop motion at the end and at the beginning (although for the beginning the pictures will be reversed making it look like the scrunched up paper is being unraveled).
We also filmed a scene for the end, when Lewis takes the paper and throws it in the bin.
Using Corel Video Studio Pro X3 I put the photo shots together to create the stop motion. I then put the filming of Lewis at the end.
I have separated the end and beginning by leaving a black background for a few seconds in between.
It is a work in progress, and this is obviously our first draft. After watching it as group, we decided that we need more photos to make it more like a film, because at the moment it sort of jumps to each picture and it doesn't really look very professional or like a film. We can improve on that though.

Here is our first draft of our stop motion technique for our music video:

Shots that could be used for our music video

As I knew I would be using the train on a trip out I had last week, I discussed with the group beforehand if it would be useful to shoot a few train scenes for our music video as we had already talked about perhaps getting some train scenes in there.
They agreed and so I did take a few shots. Some are of the outside of the train and some are from the inside of the train. If we use any of these shots, we will obviously take out the sound so that it doesn't interfere with the song and/or the video itself.  Here are the shots that I managed to shoot;
